Nichols finishes her 3rd Ironman
Monday, 27 August 2007

Another Ironman is under TEAM 4 athlete Danniela Nichols belt with an impressive time of 12:58:51...

Ironmanlive writes:

"I wrote about Danniela Nichols the other day in my column. Since then I’ve received a number of e-mails from people who have confirmed my initial impression of the super-inspiring, single, super mom. Today she finished her third Ironman, despite the fact that she doesn’t have a thyroid. She’s a two-time cancer survivor who doesn’t let anything get her down or get in the way of her goals. Ever thought you had a reason not to train? Forget it. Danniela Nichols could come up with a million reasons not to train and race and she doesn’t give in to any of them."

We are so proud of you Danniela!!

Our Hometown Hero
Friday, 24 August 2007

Danniela Nichlos is nominated for the Hometown Hero award at Louisville Ironman...

The Everyday Hero Award has been created by Ford to recognize the efforts of special individuals who have had a positive impact in their respective communities.  Ford presents an Everyday Hero award at every full-distance Ironman event on the North America Sports race calendar. The Everyday Hero Award is geared toward athletes who have contributed to a person, charity or organization in a significant way and who have done so while undertaking the rigorous training for an Ironman event. The recognition tied to the award will give the Ironman community a first-hand account of the contributions and sacrifices this person has made.

Nichlos of Onalaska, Wisconsin is a 2-time cancer survivor and a single mother of 2.  That alone is a full time job.  But for Danniela being a personal trainer, an Ironman triathlete and raising money for TEAM 4 are passions that she feels makes her more of a complete person.  It is no wonder why she received this nomination of a Everyday Hero at the inaugural Louiseville Ironman to be held this Sunday August 26.(story from Ironmanlive.com)We all wish her the best this upcoming weekend as well another TEAM 4 athlete and one of Nichlos training partners, Tracie Happel.  To track them please visite www.ironmanlive.com throughout the day.  We will all be rooting for you two!
